Managing Director

Kit Wells, Managing DirectorKit began his career as a Land Agent and Chartered Surveyor with Kendal & District Auction Mart in 1990, qualifying as a member of the RICS in 1992. That year, he joined the family Malting business of Muntons plc as a member of the Grain team, and over the next few years gained wide experience in the procurement of grain, logistics and the manufacture of malt.

Following the completion of an MBA with Nottingham Trent University in 1998, including a dissertation on service in the Supply Chain, Kit took on the management of the Company's Supply Chain and Logistics functions, combining this with detailed involvement in the implementation of the new SAP operating system.

In 2005, he took the opportunity to lead the Company's development of its Environmental Management Systems. This began with the processing of the PPC Permit for the Company, and lead through to achieving Certification to ISO 14001:2004 in 2006. During the course of this, Kit achieved membership of IEMA and successfully completed the Specialist NEBOSH Environmental Diploma, as well as qualifying as a Lead Assessor with BSI for ISO 14001. This also enabled him to qualify as a Chartered Environmentalist through membership of the RICS.

At the same time as the environmental matters were being addressed, Kit set up the Muntons plc Business Continuity Management system, to address the issues of resilience and survival in the event of a major incident. Leading on Risk Assessment and Business Continuity, Kit implemented test exercises and drafted the Company's response manual.

In 2008, in conjunction with Muntons plc and Kathryn Wells, Kit set up Little Green Consulting Ltd to bring together the skills gained with Muntons plc with the desire to develop greater environmental awareness and help organisations plan to survive major incidents.

Kathryn Wells, BLE

Kathryn WellsLike Kit, Kathryn started her working career as a Land Agent and Chartered Surveyor, with Young's Chartered Surveyors in Forfar, working as the Assistant Factor until qualifying as a member of the RICS in 1992. Following qualification, Kathryn sought to expand her agri-forestry knowledge through a four month sponsorship to study agri-forestry in New Zealand from the Scottish Federation of Young Farmers.

Family commitments meant that Kathryn gained a wide experience working with a number of organisations in Yorkshire and Suffolk, including a period as the County Organiser for the Yorkshire Federation of Young Farmers, and as an administrator for Muntons plc at their Stowmarket HQ.

The arrival of new additions to the family meant that Kathryn needed to take a career break, but soon became involved as an agent for Usborne Books, selling children's books at various functions, fairs and fetes.

The setting up of Little Green Consulting Ltd gave Kathryn the opportunity to consider the next stage of her career, and with the support of Muntons plc, underwent training as an Environmental Manager and Environmental Auditor. In June 2008, she successfully passed the BSI Lead Assessors courses for ISO 14001 and BS25999, giving her the skills to implement and lead the development of Management Systems that would satisfy the requirements of these standards.

In addition to this, her role within the Little Green Consulting Ltd is to safeguard the administration and financial management of the Company.
