Kit Wells MBE, PIEMA, SpDipEnv, CEnv, MRICS, MBA   

Managing Director

Kit began his career as a Land Agent and Chartered Surveyor with Kendal & District Auction Mart in 1990, qualifying as a member of the RICS in 1992. That same year he joined Muntons plc, the family malting business, as a member of the Grain team, gaining wide experience in grain procurement, logistics and the manufacture of malt.

 

During his time at Muntons, Kit was involved in many facets of the business including grain procurement, sales and logistics culminating in taking the lead on Environmental and Business Continuity Management.

In conjunction with Muntons plc, Kit and Kathryn set up Little Green Consulting Ltd in 2008 to combine the skills gained with Muntons plc with the desire to develop greater environmental awareness and help organisations plan to survive major incidents.

 

As a business Little Green Consulting Ltd is involved in a number of different disciplines. These include developing and auditing environmental, energy, quality and asset management systems, assisting organisations meet their compliance obligations, environmental project management, and identifying energy efficiencies. Initially with a background in the Food and Drink industry, the company has expanded to encompass retail, road haulage and renewable energy sectors as well as food and drink.

 

As an Environmental and Sustainable professional, Kit works with companies to enable them to achieve business goals through the effective approach to Sustainability and Environmental Management. Working from Board level to shop floor, Kit has guided and supported companies to achieve greater efficiencies, cost savings and profitability through robust, verified environment and sustainable practices and in doing so has gained recognition as an effective environmental practitioner.

 

In addition, Kit provides support for BSI Training as a lecturer in Environmental and Asset Management subjects delivering in-house and public courses.

Kathryn Wells, BLE, PIEMA

Finance Director

Kathryn qualified as a Land Agent and Chartered Surveyor and worked as the assistant Factor at Glamis Castle. Following a career break, she joined her husband, Kit, in setting up Little Green Consulting Ltd, a Business Management Consultancy specialising in environmental and sustainability systems to support the business process.

In 2017, Kathryn joined Muntons plc on a part time basis to provide technical support for the environmental team. Muntons plc is a malting company producing grain malt and a range of malt products such as malt extracts, dried malt powders, malt flours and homebrew kits.

 

Kathryn brought her legal and technical experience to supporting the company in dealing with environmental permitting, pollution and management situations as well as leading on energy matters.

 

In her time at Muntons, the company has developed new practices in waste water treatment including the provision of a project to recycle water as well as replacing its use of gas as a principle fuel with biomass sourced from Thetford Forest.

 

Muntons have developed its sustainability footprint to become an industry leader globally on its approach to Sustainability. This has meant that Kathryn has been actively involved in looking at ways of improving waste management, using materials more efficiently, reducing the impact of effluent and trying to find ways of reducing energy usage and carbon output.

 

In 2022, due to growing demand for support, Kathryn left Muntons to resume her roles as Finance Director and Lead Auditor for Little Green Consulting Ltd supporting the growth of the business even and despite of the impact of COVID, seeing the client base more than double in five years.

 

In addition to this, her role within the Little Green Consulting Ltd is to safeguard the administration and financial management of the Company.

Adrian Dawson

Adrian spent 30 years of his career working in the Police Force before joining AJN Steelstock Ltd as a Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor drawing on his leadership experience from the police to deliver health, safety and environmental initiatives across a growing company.

 

Having left AJN Steelstock Ltd in 2020 with the intention of travelling, the COVID pandemic prevented the fulfilment of that plan. Consequently, Kit was able to persuade Adrian to join Little Green Consulting Ltd in the summer of 2022 to provide Health, Safety and Environmental support for the growing number of clients in the business.
